F1 — Three Wallpapers Inspired by the Film

I watched the F1 film recently. Walked out of the cinema and immediately wanted a wallpaper that felt like the last twenty minutes of it — dark, fast, that particular quality of light just before something important happens.

The Inspiration

The film does something interesting with how it frames the cars. It puts the camera low, close, in places you would never normally see from — the cockpit looking back, the nose looking forward down the straight, the overhead shot in a garage with light cutting in from somewhere off to the side. It makes a Formula 1 car look less like a sports car and more like a piece of engineering that happens to go very fast.

I wanted to capture something of that. Not a racing action shot, not a trophy moment — just the machine itself, in interesting light, doing what it does.

Three Images

The front view is the one I keep coming back to. That orange gradient behind number 44 has a quality that works especially well on a phone screen — it fills the background without competing for attention, and the car sits in it like it belongs there.

The top-down garage shot is the most cinematic of the three. The way the light falls across the carbon fibre, the shadow behind the rear wing — that is the kind of image that looks better the bigger the screen it is on.

The sunset rear view is the simplest and probably the most usable as a daily wallpaper. Just the silhouette, the brake light, the sky. Everything else stripped away.
