I have been meaning to make something for this site for a while. Not just write something — make something. These five wallpapers are the first attempt at that.
Where the Idea Came From
The wave shape came first. I had been looking at a lot of minimal desktop wallpapers — the kind that sit quietly behind everything else without demanding attention — and most of them are either too flat or too busy. What I kept coming back to were the ones that had some movement in them. Not literal movement, just the suggestion of it. Layers that feel like they are going somewhere.
Stacked waves felt right for that. Simple enough to disappear into the background, interesting enough that you do not mind seeing them every day. The kind of thing that works on a phone screen or a monitor without needing to be centred or cropped in any particular way.
How I Made Them
These were designed in Canva using layered curved shapes built up from the bottom. Each wave is a slightly different shade of the same colour family — darker at the top, lighter toward the bottom — which gives the stacking effect some depth without introducing a second colour that fights for attention.
The Mix version was the exception. That one started as an experiment in what happens when you let the colours drift across the spectrum instead of staying in a single family. Purple into teal into blue-green into gold. It ended up being the most interesting one to look at, which surprised me slightly.
